Educational Videos for Young Kids

Last week I discovered this really cool site that both parents and kids can use as an extra learning tool.

Teacher Tube is similar to that other famous video/tube website out there however it has educational videos that students, teachers and parents can all safely view. Some are more fun and entertaining than others but they are all free to view.

Since my daughter was talking about volcanoes a couple of weeks ago, here’s a sample volcano video, complete with funny rap verses!

I’m looking forward to seeing more of these videos. Sometimes the titles do not really describe what the video is about, which could be a drawback, but Teacher Tube has them categorized into Most Recent, Most Viewed, Most Discussed, etc. There is also a search box at the top of the page which yields accurate results.

Videos should not be the only learning method used when teaching but if you have a visual learner, seeing a video could help your student understand the subject a little better. These videos are also a great way to introduce technology into the student’s learning environment.
